Introduction Letter

I demonstrated professional communication with students’ families with my introduction letter at the beginning of the school year. My primary aim for this letter was to extend a warm welcome and introduce myself to the students and their families. For those whom I had the opportunity to work with prior, the letter aimed to generate excitement to have me in their classroom again. For those who were unfamiliar with me, the goal was to alleviate any jitters or uncertainties about having a student teacher in their classroom. I wanted families to feel assured that I am open to communication and excited to work with their children.

In the future, I would also include a supplementary “about me” page stapled to my letter. While a letter such as this serves well for many parents, including something that is also more visually compelling, such as an infographic about me, would be more accessible to students and some parents. This way, for students or parents less inclined to read a full letter, a visually engaging infographic could capture their interest alongside the main letter.
